Cutting the tails went OK.

Cutting the pins did not go OK. Multiple failures. Multiple attempts to repair.

Peruvian walnut is both uglier than normal walnut and worse to work with in every way. Its grain is unforgiving.

Glue and clamping pressure fixes all mistakes, though.

Despite the horrific joinery, it somehow ended up square.
