Data Oriented Programming in Java: Chapter 5 Progress (2024-11-17)

Sickness and work travel stole some of the week's writing, but a big milestone was reached: I moved the draft out of Obsidian, where I do most of my writing, and into Microsoft Word, where I do the "last 10%." As with all projects, this last 10% takes 90% of the time.

This week was a lot of "killing darlings" and rewriting sections to reduce their length. I'm trying to keep each chapter around 30 pages. The current page count hovers around 60. So, there is lots of work to do. It might end up being two parts. One chapter devoted to modeling behaviors. One devoted to implementing them. We'll see.

It's not quite finished enough for review, but it's close. Very close. Another week at most.

Then we'll see if all of this effort was misplaced...!
