Somewhere around 3:30 this morning I hopped out of bed because I had to write down some random idea for this dumb book. Writing induces a weird, obsessive, borderline mania I did not expect. Younger me, that idealistic idiot child from a year ago, was not prepared for the game of inches that can sometimes be the writing process. When a good idea comes to mind, you've got to frantically find some way of recording it before it disappears. You need it. So, I'll get out of bed in the middle of the night. I'll hop out of the shower. I'll scribble notes on whatever is nearby.

And it's always for something pretty dumb in the grand scheme of things. A section title. A transition. Something that doesn't matter and nobody will notice. This morning was just that a section should be moved. That's it. But I crawled out of bed, because it's important. Not to anyone who reads it, but to me.
