Despite another hellish week at Amazon, I managed to finish up the chapter and send it over to Manning for review.

While that goes through the review pipeline, I've started working on chapter 9. It begins in the usual way: me lying to myself about how short it will be. In my head, this is 15-18 pages at most. We've already talked about the mechanics elsewhere. All that's left is philosophy.
